Noyeks Newmans - Business Update - COVID-19

Dear Customer,

As you are aware following the Government announcement earlier this evening, there is now a mandatory order for everyone to stay at home from midnight 27th March until Easter Sunday 12th April.

Noyeks Ltd has to date implemented all HSE / WHO safety guidelines and of course will follow Government instructions with regard to this national lock down. In accordance with same all our branches will remain closed for the next two weeks to the public but will remain open on an emergency delivery basis only per Government instructions for State body procurements only. However we will remain open on an online basis  for quotes, kitchen design etc with a view to confirming orders for supply once the Government shut down has expired.

I am proud to say that Noyeks has been trading in Ireland since 1893 and given our extensive range of products and significant customer base we are in a position, where we are doing our small part to help in this unprecedented challenge to our society. We are supplying Government bodies directly and indirectly through our customers with materials to help in the fight against COVID-19 whether they are Hospitals, Covid-19 test centres, Dept of Defence, OPW etc.  With a view to distribute urgent emergency supplies as efficiently as possible we will need sight of written confirmation from a Government body that the goods are strictly required with regard to COVID-19 projects for the HSE or another Government body so that it fully complies with the Government directive as of 27th March. Please be advised that all deliveries will be to site only and you will need to provide a means of unloading the consignment.

More than ever we need to work together and we would like to assure you that once we reopen we will do all we can to fulfil your requirements as quickly as possible. With this in mind during the lock down period, please feel free to ring our sales representatives or office numbers to place orders as we are all working online from home and remain available to serve you efficiently with a view to immediate delivery once the lock down has expired. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and our wonderful Noyeks team for the incredible support and understanding during these challenging times.

In line with the Irish Government’s latest public health advice we will temporarily close all our showrooms on March 28th and we will advise on emergency delivery arrangements later. Also, in line with Government Direction from Monday 30th March we are OPEN for EMERGENCY COVID-19 / HSE / Health Service procurement on a delivery basis only. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, as we will not be in a position to process current retail and trade orders. We will closely monitor the situation and run the business as usual as soon as it is safe to do so.

Noyeks Newmans Taking All Precautions To Protect 91 Staff & Customers While Trying To Ensure Continuity Of Supply For Key Customers Including Hospitals & Public Sector Agencies

Noyeks Newmans is taking all the steps necessary to protect its 91 staff and customers from COVID-19 while at the same time trying to ensure continuity of supply to its key customers some of whom use our products – such as anti-bacterial laminates and anti-bacterial work surfaces – to supply many of the country’s hospitals as well as the Defence Forces and a range of public sector agencies.

In relation to staff and customers the company has put the following protections in place in its three locations in Tralee, Finglas and Ballymount:

  • Circa 50% of the company’s Sales and Administrative staff are now working online from home,
  • Our premises are marked out clearly to ensure social distancing while health and safety signage is clearly displayed in all locations,
  • Hand sanitiser is provided at all locations,
  • Frontline retail staff are protected by perspex screens, masks and latex gloves.

Noyeks Newmans is eager to stay open if it can, in order to ensure continuity of supply to its key customers including many of the country’s hospitals, the Defence Forces and public sector agencies. Yesterday alone the company supplied anti-bacterial laminates and work surfaces – for the workspaces around sinks – for a number of hospitals including the Mater Hospital, Dublin.

In order to deal with the ongoing demand from these customers and the online demand from retail customers – many of whom are looking to adjust their homes to make them more effective from a home-working perspective – is exploring many options one option is (as an emergency solution if needed in the future) of a potential circa 6 members of staff volunteering to live on the Nationwide Distribution Hub.  The reason the company has sought such volunteers is to facilitate a nationwide distribution service only that would operate only from that premises.

If Noyeks Newmans decides in the future to establish a sole distribution hub (No Public Collection Facility), it would only be open to hauliers who would have to stay in their cabs at all times while their consignment is being loaded. The distribution hub concept is a potential future solution which we believe will offer the best outcome to protect our staff from infection while continuing to meet the ongoing wholesale and online retail demand.

The staff working in the distribution hub (if the company decides to proceed with this option)  would receive enhanced pay and other benefits to reflect the contribution they would be making to customers and to the business. The number of staff volunteering for these roles has greatly exceeded the number required and is a reflection of the huge commitment amongst the Noyeks Newmans team to ensuring continuity of supply to our customers.

The average number of years’ service by Noyeks Newmans employees is 11.5 years and the company is very privileged to have such a loyal and committed team in such unprecedented times. To date, we are thankful that not one member of the Noyeks Newmans team nationwide has been laid off or put on reduced hours.

It is the Noyeks Newmans Management team’s commitment to protect as many jobs as possible while strictly adhering to guidelines issued by the HSE and WHO in relation to health and safety for both our staff and the public. Noyeks Newmans are closely monitoring Government communications on COVID-19 on an hour-by-hour basis and will immediately close our premises if that is the instruction of the Irish Government.

We Are 100% Committed & Focused to Serve You During These Challenging Times!

Dear Valued Customer, further to the continued disruption to the market due to COVID-19. We would like to advise you as follows.

We are pleased to inform you that we are fully operational in all locations during normal hours of service and we continue to offer our collection service and prompt delivery service nationwide. 

We are indeed mindful of potential Government intervention and the potential fall off in demand as we move forward to more challenging times in the coming months. However as it stands we are fully focused on business as usual. We have taken all COVID-19 practical precautions as advised by the HSE and WHO whereby approximately 50% of the Noyeks team are working online from home, safe distancing policy, etc.

Currently we are fully in stock of all product groups and we have had no indication from our supply lines of any impending disruption. This position is being monitored daily and may change as we unfortunately progress towards more challenging times ahead. We have pre-planned the capacity to divert to alternate geographic supply lines should the need arise due to closed borders etc. 

We wish to sincerely thank you for your continued support during this difficult time and to assure you we will do all in our power to maintain service where practicably possible in the foreseeable future.
