HARDBOARD

Hardboard (HB) is high-density fibreboard made from different wood species like for example eucalyptus. The production process of creating hardboards turns sustainable raw materials into natural, recyclable boards. Low energy consumption through manufacturing and versatility of the product makes hardboards desirable on the market. Hardboards can be used for: furniture making, construction, sound-proofing, packaging, displays or car/van interior. These boards can be sanded, painted, perforated or varnished. Betanzos HB boards are smooth on one side and rough on the other. Visit one of our showrooms in Dublin Finglas & Ballymount or Tralee to find out more about sheets in Ireland!

Hardboards

Wood-based hardboards can be used in a wide variety of applications like drawer bottoms, furniture backs, panels, walls, ceilings, floor-levelling bases, construction frameworks, food containers for transport, product displays or industrial packaging. Depending on needs these can be supplied as natural/raw or have a topcoat. These sheets are recyclable and biodegradable because of their wood-based composition. Hardboards are made of wood panels that undergo thermal treatment - a process from which their stability, durability, and physical-mechanical resistance properties are obtained. Moisture is balanced out in the process and the panels are cut to size.

Decorative Hardboards

It is a versatile panel used across a wide range of interior applications, from wall panelling and moulded door skins to furniture components and perforated boards. Hardboards are manufactured from compressed wood fibres like chips and shavings, hardboard sheets offer a smooth, durable surface ideal for both residential and commercial projects. These lightweight panels can be easily cut, shaped, routed or drilled using standard woodworking tools, making them a practical choice for custom builds. Whether laminated with veneers, plastic films or paper overlays, hardboard panels deliver cost effective solutions without compromising on finish. They can be securely fixed with screws, nails, staples or glue and are commonly used in office and residential furniture, perforated display boards and prefinished wall panels.
